Please Do Not Put Anything in This Toilet Unless It Has Been Eaten First, 2021

12" x 65" , 2021.

Please Don't Put Anything in This Toilet Unless It Has Been Eaten First (2021), is a bio art installation that captures the overgrowth of an outdoor environment growing in an indoor, industrial space. The organic material turns a familiar, private and functional space into something entirely new with no function other than to house the outdoors indoors. Reeds and cattails are invasive plant species that can be found in ponds and larger bodies of water. Using the invasive nature of these plants, the organic matter is seen as an invading force, spreading into plumbing systems and creating it's own pond in a toilet bowl.
