A Welcomed Disturbance (2022),

Projection on a shower curtain, chair, watering can and drying eucalyptus

A Welcomed Disturbance, 2022 is a sculptural, light-projection based installation inspired by my routine plant-chores and previous works revolving around plant-life and the interior space of a washroom. In my previous installations, I used the intimate and familiar space of a washroom as a space for plants to invade and reclaim as their own. Although the plant is essentially invading a space and preventing it from functioning the way it usually would, I wanted to treat the subject as an embrace rather than a nuisance to the viewer.
