Biomorphism Vol. 2 (2023), is an interactive installation that is presented as a 2-Dimensional organism, growing in a 3D space. The Installation utilizes projection and layered sounds to create a sensory-based experience for its viewers by hybridizing different mediums like; analogue and digital collage, projection mapping, the use of ready-mades, living plants and sound.
The installation travels through various states of composition and conceptuality; the process beginning with a simple analogue collage made up of plant material and vintage Nat Geo images, which is then scanned and digitally manipulated via photoshop. The crosspollination from a physical to a digital world is meant to transform the simplicity of the image made in terms of shape/scale, its fluidity, colour and luminosity. In its final form, the digital collage is brought into the 3Dspace, being projected and upscaled onto 3D objects; creating another dimension to the piece. The element of sound was used to complete the installation, to create an experience and provide mystery and contemplation.
